City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: March 14, 2022 <br />Ordinance <br />Agenda Section:File Number:22-193 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Fran Robustelli <br />City Manager <br />BY: <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:Ordinance of the City of San Leandro City Council Amending Title I, Chapter 1 of <br />the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Council Member Districts <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2022 - <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE I, CHAPTER 1 OF <br />THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />RELATING TO COUNCIL MEMBER DISTRICTS <br />WHEREAS, Section 230 of the San Leandro City Charter requires new district boundaries <br />to be adopted by ordinance whenever the results of the federal census show an increase of five <br />percent (5%) or more since the last redistricting; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council last approved new Council district boundaries in 2011, <br />following the 2010 federal census; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2021 federal census data revealed population growth of 7.13% Citywide, <br />triggering the Charter requirement for the Council’s adoption of new district boundaries. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council hereby ORDAINS as follows: <br />Section 1. Title I, Chapter 1, of the San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br />Section 1-1-100:DIVISION OF CITY.
