What is the CDBG Program? <br />3 <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 <br />Purpose: provide decent, affordable housing, suitable living <br />environment, and expansion of economic opportunity <br />Activities must meet at least one of three national objectives: <br />1. Benefit to low and moderate income people <br />2. Aid in prevention of slum and blight <br />3. Urgent need <br />Flexible grant for a broad range of activities: housing, capital <br />improvements, public services, economic development, & general <br />administration <br />San Leandro = CDBG entitlement jurisdiction
