<br /> <br />19 <br />Local 21/SLCEA Memorandum of Understanding January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2024 <br /> It is understood that the provisions of this section shall not be interpreted as requiring <br />the City to fill each temporary vacancy by an acting assignment. <br /> <br />21.2 Differentials for Civilian Police Department Employees <br /> <br /> For the period of time that Public Safety Dispatchers, Senior Public Safety <br />Dispatchers, Public Safety Dispatcher Supervisors, Police Service Technicians, <br />Police Services Supervisors, and Administrative Specialists - Police are assigned to <br />work in a training capacity, they shall receive an additional twenty-five dollars <br />($25.00) per day differential. <br /> <br />21.3 Uniforms <br /> <br /> The City will provide uniforms to employees required by the City to be uniformed in <br />the Public Works and Community Development departments. Classifications <br />required to be uniformed shall be determined by the department. These uniforms <br />may consist of shirts, sweatshirts, pants and jackets that substitute for personal attire <br />the employee would otherwise have to purchase, excluding items that are solely for <br />personal health and safety. The monetary value associated with the City-provided <br />uniforms shall be up to $245 per year, reported per pay period and reported to <br />CalPERS as special compensation for Classic members of PERS. The Parties will <br />meet to discuss if the value of the uniforms exceeds $245 per year. <br /> <br /> Full-time Administrative Specialists-Police, Public Safety Dispatcher Supervisors, <br />Senior Public Safety Dispatchers, Public Safety Dispatchers, Police Services <br />Supervisors, Police Service Technicians, and Records Clerks who are required to <br />maintain uniforms shall be allowed a uniform allowance of seven hundred dollars <br />($700.00). Payment shall be made by separate check. <br /> <br />Section 22. Layoff <br /> <br />The parties are in accord that the following provisions supplement and clarify language <br />included in the current Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Union, <br />and the Personnel Rules covering layoffs. It is understood that only the employee <br />appointment types defined below possess the referenced layoff rights. Prior to the layoff <br />of any full-time or permanent part-time employees, hourly, part-time and/or temporary <br />employees within the same classification will be released. <br /> <br />Definitions <br /> <br />Permanent Part-time Employees: Hourly employees working a fixed weekly schedule for <br />a minimum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year for two consecutive fiscal years. <br /> <br />Full-time Employees: Regular hourly employees scheduled to work 2080 hours in a fiscal <br />year. <br />
