RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 2022-065 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT A $1,499,400 GRANT FROM CALFIRE FOR STREET TREE PLANTING AND MAINTENANCE WITH COMMON VISION AND APPROPRIATION APPROVAL OF GRANT FUNDS TO ACCOUNT 150-3607 WHEREAS, by the California Urban Forestry Act of 1978 and the Public Resources Code 4799.06-4799.12, CALFIRE is authorized to optimize the benefits of trees and related vegetation through the California Climate Investments (CCI) Urban & Community Forestry Grant Program, and WHEREAS, said procedures established by CALFIRE require the Applicant to certify by resolution the approval of the application that is submitted to the State; and WHEREAS, successful Applicants will enter into a contract with the CALFIRE to complete the scope of the project as outlined in the grant application. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby RESOLVES that: 1. Appropriation of Grant Funds to Account 150-12-035-5120 is authorized; and 2. Action by the City Manager is approved, and execution is authorized to accept the grant awards in the combined amount of $1,499,400 for street tree planting and part-time tree care staff positions with 100K Trees for Humanity; and 3. The City of San Leandro, as the Applicant, certifies that if the project is awarded, the Applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; and 4. The City of San Leandro, as the Applicant, certifies that the Applicant has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the contract shown in the Grant Acceptance Form; and The City Council delegates the authority to the City Manager or her designees (Deputy City Manager, Sustainability Manager, Public Works Director, Finance Director) to sign and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of the Grant Scope; and 6. The City of San Leandro agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and guidelines.
