RESOLUTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO.2022-036 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ACT (LSTA) COPYCAT GRANT AWARD FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY, RECEIVING $19,360 FOR FY 2021-2022 AND TO APPROPRIATE THESE FUNDS TO CREATE A MEMORY LAB AS OUTLINED IN THE GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WHEREAS, The California State Library is the central reference and research library for state government and the Legislature and also directs state and federal funds to support local public libraries and statewide library programs and services; and WHEREAS, The California State Library offers an annual competitive Copycat Grant program that enables libraries to duplicate successful projects of other California public libraries, helping libraries easily implement tried -and tested -programs; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library has historically been awarded funds by the California State Library for various projects and initiatives benefitting the community over the years through competitive grant agreements; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library has been awarded an LSTA CopyCat Grant from the California State Library for $19,360 to purchase equipment and materials for the creation of a Memory Lab and provide digital preservation programs and services to the community; and WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library will report results of the LSTA CopyCat Grant execution of a Memory Lab to the California State Library. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro RESOLVES as follows: That the City Council approves, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents related to the LSTA award agreement between the California State Library and San Leandro Public Library through August 2022 for $19,360 for equipment and services related to building a Memory Lab at the Main Library and mobile equipment to be used at the Museum and community sites. 2. That an appropriation totaling $19,360 into account 150-68-014 and grant revenues totaling $19,360 into account 150-3607 be approved; and That an original executed agreement shall be attached to and made a part of this resolution.
