RESOLUTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO.2022-042 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER AND LIBRARY DIRECTOR TO ACCEPT A GIFT OF $3,000 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE SAN LEANDRO LIBRARY FOR FY 2021-2022, AND TO APPROPRIATE AND EXPEND THESE FUNDS TO CONDUCT A COMMUNITY READS PROGRAM FOR THE TITLE THERE, THERE BY TOMMY ORANGE AS PART OF THE SESQUICENTENNIAL LIBRARY PROGRAMMING WHEREAS, the Friends of the San Leandro Library is a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization that supports and supplements the operational needs of the San Leandro Public Library; and WHEREAS the Friends of the San Leandro Library has a history of raising funds through dues, donations, and used book sales since it was established in 1984; and WHEREAS, the Friends of the San Leandro Library gifts funds to the San Leandro Public Library to supplement Library operational needs; and WHEREAS, San Leandro Public Library would like to provide Community Reads programming using Tommy Orange's title There, There that will cost $3,000; and WHEREAS, the Friends of the San Leandro Library will gift $3,000 to the San Leandro Public Library to conduct Community Reads programming. NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council hereby RESOLVES as follows: The City Council authorizes the City Manager to accept the gift of $3,000 from the Friends of the San Leandro Library for the San Leandro Public Library to provide Community Reads programming using Tommy Orange's title There, There; and 2. Appropriate $3,000 into expenditure account 010-68-005 and $3,000 into revenues account 010-3 803.
