IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022-057 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO <br />APPROVE ADDING ONE FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION FOR DEPUTY <br />CITY MANAGER CLASSIFICATION TO THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE <br />ADOPTED BUDGET STAFFING ALLOCATION <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 <br />and 2022-2023 biennial budget including City Manager's Office staffing allocation on June 28, <br />2021 and updated the staffing allocation on January 18, 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the current City Manager's Office staffing allocation includes one Deputy <br />City Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been continuous feedback from the community and Council that it <br />is important to have the necessary staffing levels to respond to community needs and council <br />priorities; and <br />WHEREAS, following the March 26, 2022 City Council Planning Session, the City <br />Manager was presented with the opportunity to reinstate the City's former Deputy City Manager <br />increasing the City's Deputy City Manager count by one; and <br />WHEREAS, increasing the number of Deputy City Managers will provide much needed <br />staff resources to focus on the renewed City Council priorities in the areas of solving increased <br />accountability and safety within our community, investments in infrastructure, including <br />significant improvements to City streets and facilities, implementation of a recently adopted <br />climate action plan, and comprehensive community engagement and outreach. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council hereby RESOLVES as <br />follows: <br />That the addition of one full-time equivalent position for Deputy City Manager <br />Classification to the City Manager's Office Adopted Budget Staffing Allocation is approved, and <br />the City Manager is authorized to take all necessary and legal actions to implement this <br />resolution. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 181h day of April 2022, <br />by the following vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmember Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Cox, Lopez, Simon, Mayor Cutter (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Noe (0) <br />ATTEST: Vk � 0am, <br />Kelly B. ancy, Acting ztyclerk <br />
