Sincerely, Your IT Team
To members of the city council,
It has been brought to the communities attention that there will be a meeting tonight regarding
our police officers.
First and foremost, our police officers are responsible for protecting the community of 90,000
plus residents.
With that said, there are a small group of people in this community who feel they can and
want to dictate how our officers perform their job. These folks are not at the forefront of these
violent criminals committing heinous acts against our citizens of San Leandro.
Considering the type of guns confiscated during an arrest should indicate that our officers need
all of the tools and protection to keep them safe while performing their duties.
Also, these criminals have become emboldened because there are no or minimal consequences
to their actions.
If you look at the trend, our country is losing officers at a record pace because they are being
ambushed and murdered.
Let me ask you, if this was your loved one serving as a police officer, wouldn't you expect
them to have every tool necessary to keep them safe?
This is one of the most important decisions to come before you.
I trust you will put your political will aside and make a sound judgment to keep our remaining
police force safe while they are employed in the city of San Leandro.
Best regards,
Lisa Souza
