Mr. Guss: Sir, I'm going to t, -, answer your question as intelligent and honest as I can. When
I got the permit and applied for it, I dealt with Mr. Weisbrod and he helped me tremendously. I
knew Dennis, my neighbor, who owned Arrow Truck Parts, I just couldn't satisfy him regardless
of what I did. So my partner and his son went out and installed this pipe in the drainage swale
and so these people from Arrow Truck Parts came up, I don't like to call them names because I
can get in trouble legally maybe, and stated that what they were going to do to me and what if
they knew the property was available they would have got it and expanded their wrecking
operation instead of me having, that junk that they call concrete, dirt and asphalt. In the
meantime, not knowing that my partner had left the company along with me because we both had
worked for them over 30 years the caucasian and his son was happening. And these things that
the son told his dad and his dad heard himself and the mechanic, Mike Olivera, would bring tears
to your eyes I think if you knew what was said.
Padro: Excuse me, sir.
Mr. Guss: Let me try to address you.
Padro: Please do and I would just really appreciate a response to the questions I ask.
Mr. Guss: Let me try to address your question. Mr. Weisbrod never did comedown there and
tell me that I was out of compliance. And when I started getting other people coming down
there talking to my son because I'm not there, I'm out doing construction work, I just thought that
it didn't mean as much but now I know it does. I answered your question honestly. Because I
didn't hear it from the man I went to and had the deal put together for me.
VIcGallian: Are there any other questions from the Members? Again, I do want to reiterate and
I think I want to make sure for the record that I am going to ask now one last time because I think
what we have to do here as a Board is basically good faith. It's the last chance, so to say. We are
up against and as I understand it and I think if the Board when we go into discussion might
understand I better, is that you are going to comply with the conditions that's been set before you.
It's as simple as that.
Mr. Guss: I don't have no problem with that, sir, if I just get a change to comply.
McGallian: Okay, so you agree?
Mr. Guss: Yes.
McGallian: Thank you. Any other questions?
MSC: Padro.iEliason motion to close the public hearing. (4 ayes)
McGaIlian: The record should show that there is nobody else in the audience prepared to speak
on the matter. Thank you Mr. Guss.
Board of Zoning Adjustments Meeting
August 1, 1996 ri
Minute No. 96-15 r
