ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW DRAFT <br />LAND USE ELEMENT GOALS, POLICIES, AND PROGRAMS <br />RELATING TO HOUSING <br />On May 6, 2002, the San Leandro City Council adopted an updated General Plan, including 52 goals and <br />more than 400 policy and action statements. Goal 3 of the Land Use Element addressed new housing <br />opportunities. The goal and its accompanying 10 policies and four action programs are repeated below: <br />Goal 3: New Housing Opportunities <br />Provide housing opportunities and improve economic access to housing for all segments of <br />the community. <br />Policies and Actions Implementation Strategies <br />Policy 3.01 MIX OF UNIT TYPES <br />Encourage a mix of residential development types in the • Development Review <br />City, including single family homes on a variety of lot sizes, . Zoning Code <br />as well as townhomes, row houses, live -work units, planned <br />unit developments, and multi -family housing. <br />Policy 3.02 MIX OF PRICE RANGES <br />Encourage a mix of price ranges to provide housing choices • Development Review <br />for San Leandro residents of all incomes and ages. • Housing Programs <br />Opportunities to include affordable units and market rate .
