PETER'S <br />COMMUNITY ADULT DAY CARE CENTER <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION: <br />On June 3, 2002, the City Council approved the Human Services Commission (HSC) <br />Community Assistance Grant funding recommendations, but referred the matter of <br />funding for St. Peter's Adult Day Care back to the HSC for further review. The HSC <br />reviewed the matter at the June 26, 2002 meeting and recommends funding St Peter's at <br />the level of $15,000 per year for the 2002-2004 grant cycle. <br />If approved by the City Council, the request would be funded from the General Fund <br />Contingency Budget. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Analysis <br />The grant application for Saint Peter's Adult Day Care was not accepted by the Human <br />Services Commission for consideration because the application was submitted after the <br />deadline and St. Peter's has a history of not complying with the grant requirements. In <br />making this decision, the Commission recognized the important service that St. Peter's <br />provides to the community, but was very concerned about the organization's failure to <br />comply with the requirements of the grant. At the June 3, 2002 meeting, the City Council <br />expressed similar concerns, and referred the matter back to the HSC for further <br />consideration. <br />St. Peter's has requested $20,000 per year for the 2002-2004 two-year grant cycle. This <br />request is at the same level of funding as prior year grants for St. Peter's. The Human <br />Services Commission voted to make the following recommendation to the City Council: <br />
