City. of San Leandro Redevelopment Agency <br />Alameda County/City of San Leandro <br />Redevelopment Project Area Achievements <br />Economic Development — City <br />• Awing Sign and Paint Program: Completed 15 fagade improvements. <br />• Bella Vista Optometric Facility: Approved a Disposition and Development <br />agreement with Dr. Gordon Epstein for the renovation of 1598 Washington Avenue <br />as a new optometric facility. Construction is underway. <br />• Pontiac/GMC Dealership: Approved an Owner Participation Agreement (OPA) for <br />redevelopment of the former GM Training Center to a Pontiac/GMC dealership and <br />vehicle storage and employee parking for the Marina Square Auto Center. <br />• Ford Dealership: Approved an Owner Participation Agreement (OPA) for <br />redevelopment of a former Safeway jam plant into a Ford dealership. <br />• Century Theater: Completed a reimbursement agreement for construction of the <br />Century Bay 16 (Cineplex), expected to be open in March of 2001. <br />• BayfairBART: Submitted grant application for redesign of the pedestrian <br />connection between Bayfair Mall and the Bayfair BART Station. <br />• Post Office Facility Clean -Up: Hazardous materials clean-up and Polanco immunity <br />for a 3-acre site sold to the Post Office for a new postal facility. <br />
