i
Page Two
An intermodal plan (will be developed) to connect water transit services with
other modes of transportation and public transit, including, but not limited to,
cooperative arrangements with existing public transit services and new
intermodal services. The intermodal plan shall be developed in cooperation with
the community advisory committee, the technical advisory committee, and existing
ground transportation agencies.
For our list of "each jurisdiction in which a water transit terminal exists or is
proposed" we are using the report generated by the Blue Ribbon Task Force that met
under the auspices of the Bay Area Council. Your jurisdiction is so listed so it is
important that your council or board of supervisors act as soon as possible to select an
ind iiv dual to make sure that your community is represented in this process.
Please know that it it my strong personal intention that our work be conducted in
an atmosphere of respect and regard for the interests and concerns of everyone in our
region. Our mandate is to help makes things better, not create new problems and I hope
you will not hesitate to contact me directly if you ever have questions or concerns about
our work.
We have hired Bobby Winston as a consultant in our community outreach
projects. As a part of community out reach, Bobby will help coordinate the formation of
the Community Advisory Committee. If we do not hear from you within the next few
weeks, either Bobby or I will contact you about your appointment. Please feel free to call
me for a copy of the law which created the Authority (Senate Bill 428, now Government
Code Section 66540, et. seq.) or if I can assist you in any way.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Very truly yours,
eL't'., Jeu
Charlene Haught Johnson
