In addition, staff recommends that the City Manager be <br />authorized to amend the Agreement to expand its scope to undertake a city-wide <br />aquatic needs assessment. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Current City Council Policy <br />The City has been notified by the Alameda County Health Department that the <br />current swim center needs to be brought into compliance with current codes <br />The existing facility would require significant capital improvements to meet <br />code compliance <br />The study will assess needs and determine whether different, new, or <br />expanded services should be completed at this time, including public outreach <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />• Approved in Capital Improvement Project Budget approved in the 2000-2001 <br />budget on June 19, 2000 by Resolution No. 2000-88 <br />::l <br />
