OFFICIAL RESULTS
OF SIGNATURE VERIFICATION ON PETITIONS
SUBMITTED REGARDING REPEAL OF THE
CITY OF SAN LEANDRO'S REAL PROPERTY TRANSFER TAX
This certifies that I, Gayle Petersen, received 12 sections of petitions submitted by Mr.
Lou Filipovich on June 6, 2000 regarding the repeal of the City of San Leandro's Real
Property Transfer Tax Ordinance. The 12 sections submitted consisted of approximately
1,648 signatures. These petitions were submitted to the Alameda County Registrar of
Voters on June 7, 2000 for signature verification. The official number of registered voters
who voted at the last Gubernatorial Election held in November 1998 was 19,270. The
officinal number of signatures required for the above mentioned petition is 5% of those
voters which totals 963.
The attached letter represents the Alameda County Registrar's notification of signature
verification. They found that:
1,648 signatures were submitted
1,508 were found to be valid
140 were found to be insufficient
7 were found to be not sufficient (duplicate voters)
Given 963 valid signatures would qualify the petitions, I, Gayle Petersen, City Clerk of
the City of San Leandro, hereby certify that 1,508 signatures were found to be valid,
thereby rendering the referendum petitions sufficient.
Gayle Pete ' en, City Clerk
Dated: Jul 17, 2000
