CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: October 3, 2000 <br />TO: John Jermanis, City Manager <br />APPROVED AND <br />FORWARDED <br />TO CITY COUNCIL �rC� <br />c, V1 & M <br />JoAanager <br />Jermanis (l Oe�q )1O� <br />Ci <br />FROM: Hanson Hom, Interim Development Services Directo <br />BY: Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />A-00-3; Rezone from RS Residential Single Family District to RS (PD) <br />Residential Single Family Planned Development Overlay District and P (PD) <br />Professional Office Planned Development Overlay District and, <br />PD-00-2; Planned Development to convert a legal nonconforming commercial <br />building into an office with parking and to remodel and expand an existing <br />single-family home including the remodeling of the office and parking on one <br />parcel which will have an area of 3,005 square feet and does not meet the <br />minimum area of 5,000 square feet for a parcel in the P Professional Office <br />District, and to maintain the single family home on the second parcel, with a <br />width of 12 feet at the front property line which does not meet the minimum <br />width of 50 feet for a parcel in the RS Residential Single Family district; 1844 <br />Bancroft Avenue, east side of Bancroft Avenue between Sybil Avenue and <br />Elsie Avenue, Assessor Parcel Number 77-519-13; Milton Grindley applicant <br />and James Tyson property owner; RS Residential Single Family District. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended by the Planning Commission, after a public hearing, that the City <br />Council approve the rezoning of this property from RS Residential Single Family to RS <br />(PD) Residential Single Family Planned Development Overlay District and P (PD) <br />Professional Office Planned Development Overlay District. The rezoning to P (PD) will <br />bring the proposed conversion of the commercial building into an office use into <br />conformance with the Zoning Code. The rezoning of the parcel with the single family <br />home will permit the property owner to split the one parcel into two parcels and sell the <br />single family home. <br />
