appointments, National League of Cities committee appointments, foreign trade missions, <br />etc.) These travel requests and associated budget amendments must be approved by the <br />City Council. <br />Travel Guidelines for League of California Cities' Policy Committee Members <br />It is the City's policy that the City will pay travel expenses for committee members <br />serving on any of the League's Policy Committees. The travel associated with League <br />committee appointments will be in addition to the above mentioned travel and will be <br />budgeted as follows: <br />• 2 trips per fiscal year to Southern California committee meetings (overnight <br />accommodations will not be paid by the City since the League usually <br />schedules committee meetings to permit same day airline flight to and from <br />Southern California.) <br />The Mayor and City Council Members will present their intentions to the Rules and <br />Communications Committee and obtain Council concurrence prior to accepting a <br />committee nomination or appointment. <br />Rules and Communications Committee Action <br />The City Council's actual travel expenditures will be reviewed periodically by the Rules <br />and Communications Committee. <br />G:\dept\committee\cctravel-suggestions.doc <br />16,4 <br />M-TWO619 <br />
