to a duty assignment which is required to be manned twenty- <br />four hours per day, seven days a week, shall receive a <br />total of One Hundred Dollars ($100) per month pay <br />differential when so assigned. It is recognized and agreed <br />that the work day for Police Services Aides will be eight <br />(8) hours and fifteen (15) minutes, which will include a <br />fifteen (15) minute period for briefing and roll call. <br />During this work day, a meal break may be taken only if the <br />work situation so permits. The Police Services Aide who <br />regularly performs administrative secretary duties, the <br />Police Services Aide who perform clerical duties in the <br />Investigation Division, the Police Services Aide who <br />performs duties in the Warrants Section, and the Police <br />Services Aide who performs D.A. Court Liaison and witness <br />duties shall receive a total of Twenty -Five Dollars ($25) <br />per month pay differential when so assigned. <br />For the period of this Memorandum of Understanding, up to <br />fourteen (14) Police Services Aide positions with a <br />communications assignment shall receive a 10% pay <br />differential. For the period of time that Police Service <br />Aide is acting as a trainer in either a records or <br />communications assignment, he/she shall receive an <br />additional 5% pay differential. <br />Any full-time employees assigned to the classification of <br />Police Services Aide who prior to January 1, 1981, <br />regularly performed duties of City jail attendants, <br />including booking and prisoner processing, and who as of <br />January 1, 1981, were receiving a 5% pay differential, <br />after six months satisfactory service in such assignment, <br />shall for the duration of this Memorandum of Understanding <br />continue to receive said differential. No additional 5% <br />pay differentials will be granted to employees assigned to <br />jail attendants duties. <br />For the period of this Memorandum of Understanding, the <br />Police Services Aide who regularly performs administrative <br />secretary duties for the Police Chief will receive a ten <br />percent (10%) pay differential, and the Police Services <br />Aide who regularly performs clerical duties for the <br />Investigation Division will receive a five percent (5%) pay <br />differential. <br />Full-time Administrative Specialist -Police and Police <br />Services Aides who are required to maintain uniforms shall <br />be allowed a uniform allowance of Three Hundred Sixty-five <br />dollars ($365). <br />Section 21. Layoff <br />The appointing authority may lay off an employee in the <br />competitive service because of material change in duties or <br />organization, or shortage of work or funds.
