Initiative Statute. <br />Proposition 226 requires all employers and labor organizations to obtain employees' or members' <br />permission before withholding wages or using union dues or fees for political contributions. <br />Employees' or members' permission is to be obtained annually using a prescribed form and will require <br />record keeping. It also prohibits contributions to State and local candidates by residents, governments, <br />or entities of foreign countries. <br />Attachment: Summary, analysis, and arguments in favor of and opposed to Proposition 226. <br />136 <br />
