CITY COUNCIL OF SAN LEANDRO <br />MINUTE ORDER <br />NO. 98-49 <br />SUBJECT: Sewer Service, Matter of Adoption of Proposed <br />Rate Increase for Sewer Service Charges <br />MEETING DATE: August 17, 1998 <br />Minute Order No. 98-49, Matter of Adoption of Proposed Rate Increase for Sewer Service <br />Charges. (1051/1221/2318) <br />The City Council approved the proposed rate increase for Sewer Service Charges by Resolution <br />No. 98-85 and approved staff recommendations nos. 14 on page 4 of the "Revised Schedule for <br />User Fee Service Rates," as follows: <br />1. Sewer service rates are recommended at the residential rate of $16.90, as previously <br />proposed to the City Council, an increase of $1.40 per month. <br />u 2. The City will explore the opportunity of having the Oro Loma Sanitary District or East <br />Bay Municipal Utility District provide sewer services to the entire San Leandro service <br />area. <br />3. The City will explore privatization alternatives for the wastewater facility and the <br />collection system if the Oro Loma or East Bay Municipal Utility District service <br />options are not feasible. <br />4. A report on strategy and timeframes for addressing Items 2 and 3 will be submitted to <br />the City Council in October 1998. <br />M/S/C Galvan and Lothrop.
