Delineate clearing limits, drainage easements, setbacks, trees and vegetation to remain, and/or sensitive or critical areas and their buffer zones on the plan and provide for their marking on site. V. Stabilize swales, gullies, channels, culverts, field inlets, outfalls and any other drainage conveyance on the construction site to prevent erosion. vi. Practice source control of potential pollutants. Use "good housekeeping" techniques to prevent construction related contaminants from entering the storm drain system, such as: • Gather all construction debris on regular basis (weekly at a minimum) and dispose of properly. • Sweep and collect all debris for proper disposal. Do not use water to wash down areas draining to storm drains. • Store all construction materials and debris in a covered area or under a tarp. • Designate areas for equipment maintenance and cleaning, and concrete truck washout. Ensure these areas are contained and do not drain to a storm drain. vii. Control the use and prevent discharge to storm drains of all potential pollutants, for example: pesticides, petroleum products, fertilizers, plant wastes, solid wastes, dewatering effluent, concrete saw slurry or street washing. viii. Install storm drain protection, including sand bags, filter fabric, silt sacks, or total blockage, as necessary, for each inlet which drains this site. ix. Prepare for emergency or accidental discharges. Store extra erosion control items on site (hay bales, silt fences, filter fabric, life vests). Locate areas of high drainage flow or erosion potential and plan for alternative drainage or erosion control measures.
