32SAN LEANDRO EQUITY PLANPROBLEM STATEMENT: <br />RECOMMENDATION #8 <br />City Manager’s office be responsible for providing resources to: <br />EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE: The City does not have designated staff, resources, or structure to address:>>DEIB research, <br />analysis, <br />implementation, <br />and monitoring. <br />There is currently no <br />DEIB framework/priorities <br />for policy development <br />that is standard <br />across all departments.>>DEIB is not <br />an integral <br />part of City <br />functions. <br />The City lacks diversity goals and <br />does not provide sufficient resources, <br />tools, and support for staff to <br />develop equitable policies, practices <br />and evaluate if their work is in <br />alignment with those practices. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS// <br />EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE <br />> <br />> <br />> <br />> <br />> <br />Oversee DEIB research, analysis, monitoring, and staff accountability. <br />Support policy creation and assist with DEIB Plan implementation and department <br />specific DEIB goals and priorities. <br />Ensure that DEIB priorities and principles inform city policy and that such priorities <br />and principles are developed with staff and community input and include specific <br />equity metrics and indicators. <br />Focuses on embedding diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into all City <br />processes and departments. <br />Ensure inclusion of mandatory standards that can be customized by departments <br />to meet their specific departmental functions, and develop departmental equity <br />plans under the guidance of Assistant City Manager.
