San Leandro Council Member Handbook | 20212022 <br />75 | Page <br /> <br /> <br />APPENDIX DE <br />GUIDELINES REGARDING COUNCIL SUPPORT FOR OR OPPOSITION TO BALLOT MEASURES <br /> <br />Purpose of the Guidelines: <br />The purpose of these guidelines is to describe the City Council’s policy regarding support for <br />ballot measures on local, state or national matters. <br /> <br />Guidelines: <br />The City Council as a group will not adopt a formal position in favor of or in opposition to ballot <br />measures unless such ballot measure has a direct benefit to or impact on a significant portion of <br />the community of San Leandro or the City of San Leandro. <br /> <br />Council Members requesting City Council support or opposition to a measure shall first receive <br />consensus from the body to place said support or opposition on a future agenda for Council <br />discussion and consideration. <br /> <br />No public funds shall be used in any support for or opposition to any measure. <br /> <br />Nothing in these Guidelines is intended to discourage or inhibit individual council members from <br />expressing their individual support for or opposition to any ballot measure. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(Adopted on October 4, 2010; Resolution 2010-127) <br /> <br />
