In the event one (1) or more municipal holidays falls within <br />a vacation leave, such days shall not be charged as vacation <br />leave and the vacation leave shall be extended accordingly <br />for those employees eligible for such holidays. <br />Upon the approval of the Police Chief, vacation leave may be <br />accumulated to a maximum of two (2) years' vacation <br />entitlement and taken in one (1) calendar year. Such <br />approval shall be recorded in the employee's personnel file. <br />An employee who fails to take accrued vacation leave within <br />the time herein prescribed shall lose such accrued vacation <br />leave. <br />An employee who is on Leave Without Pay status for one (1) <br />through fifteen (15) calendar days shall continue to accrue <br />vacation leave for the pay period. <br />An employee who is on Leave Without Pay status beyond <br />fifteen (15) calendar days shall not accrue vacation leave <br />for those subsequent pay period(s). <br />Vacation leave will again accrue when the employee has <br />returned to paid status for the full pay period. <br />Upon being separated from City service, an eligible employee <br />shall be entitled to compensation for any accrued but unused <br />vacation calculated at the rate of pay at the time of <br />termination. <br />The following vacation leave provisions do not apply to <br />hourly or part-time employees. <br />13.2 Vacation leave for each full-time employee shall be accrued <br />and credited for the pay period in which it is earned. <br />An employee holding a full-time position shall be entitled <br />to a vacation leave which shall consist of five -sixths (5/6) <br />work days for each full calendar month of service performed. <br />In the year in which an employee holding a full-time <br />position completed five (5) full years of City service, such <br />employee shall be entitled to fifteen and three-quarters <br />(15-3/4) work days of vacation for service performed. For <br />each full year of full-time City service completed <br />thereafter, three-quarters (3/4) of a work day vacation <br />shall be added up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) work days <br />of vacation. <br />13.3 If a member is on medical leave as a result of an on -duty <br />injury or illness, the member's vacation accrual shall <br />continue. Upon return to duty, the member shall utilize the <br />vacation accrued while on medical leave within twelve (12) <br />11 <br />
