medical insurance coverage at the City's expense. <br />23.5 The City shall contribute a maximum of Sixty-eight Dollars <br />and fourteen cents ($68.14) per month per active employee <br />for current dental coverage provided by Travelers Insurance <br />Company. Any increases in dental insurance premiums during <br />the term of this Agreement shall be split equally between <br />the City and the employee. <br />23.6 The City shall contribute a maximum of Sixty-eight Dollars <br />and fourteen cents ($68.14) monthly dental plan costs for <br />each retired City employee who was assigned to a <br />classification represented by the San Leandro Police <br />Officers' Association, and who is currently a member of the <br />City's dental plan, or who was a member of the City's dental <br />plan and retired on or after January 1, 1980. Any increases <br />in dental plan costs during the term of this Agreement shall <br />be split equally between the City and the retired employee. <br />23.7 No change in dental plan carrier, or level of benefits shall <br />be made unless agreed to by the Police Officers' <br />Association. <br />23.8 The City agrees to continue to provide to employees an <br />Employee Assistance Program. It is agree that such program <br />shall not be an automatic substitution for appropriate <br />disciplinary action when such action is appropriate. <br />Section 24. <br />Retirement Plan <br />24.1 The City shall continue to contract with the Public <br />Employees' Retirement System to provide retirement benefit <br />programs for the term of this Memorandum of Understanding. <br />24.2 As soon as possible, the City will amend its contract with <br />PERS to provide the fourth level 1959 Survivors Benefit. <br />Section 25. Safety <br />The City shall conform with applicable safety regulations provided <br />by State law to ensure the employee reasonable safe working <br />conditions. The Association agrees to encourage its members to <br />conduct themselves and use their equipment in a safe manner, to <br />promptly report unsafe conditions and equipment and to abide by <br />the guidelines of the applicable City of San Leandro General <br />Safety Rules and applicable departmental rules. In the event an <br />employees leaves the Police Department, the employee shall return <br />all City provided safety equipment to the Department. <br />Section 26.
