IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO ORDINANCE NO. 96- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2-2-220 AND 2-2-500 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING FOR A BUSINESS LICENSE FEE FOR FIREARMS DEALERS BASED UPON GROSS RECEIPTS NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. The San Leandro Municipal Code TITLE II - REVENUE, Chapter 2 - Business License, Section 2-2-220 - DEFINITIONS, is amended and renumbered to read, in part, as follows: "Section 2-2-220: [(a) - (h) no changes; renumber other subsections.] (i) Firearms dealer shall mean a person engaged in the business of selling, transferring, or leasing, or advertising for sale, transfer, or lease, or offering or exposing for sale, transfer, or lease, any firearm. Firearm shall mean any device, designed to be used as a weapon or modified to be used as a weapon, from which is expelled through a barrel a projectile by the force of an explosion or other form of combustion." Section 2. The San Leandro Municipal Code TITLE II - REVENUE, Chapter 2 - Business License, Section 2-2-500 - FEES BASED ON NATURE OF BUSINESS, is amended to add the following: "Section 2-2-500: GROUPS V BASE FEE UNIT FEE UNIT FEE BASIS Firearms Dealer $50.00+ $ Per $ of Gross Receipts attributable to the sales of firearms."
