Wandzia Grycz - 5 - Holiday Promotional Activities October 3, 1996 Promotional activities serve to inform San Leandro residents as well as neighboring communities about the events and activities happening in town. Some of the proposed promotions and marketing activities have been incorporated in the description of the Miracle on E. 14th Street listed above as well as in the Community Services Department activities budget. Some promotional activities can be accomplished at no charge. In order to capitalize on both the Pelton/Scribner Grand Re -Opening and the Miracle on East 14th Street the City would sponsor a Downtown Merchants coupon booklet. Each merchant would participate through a fee of $99. The City would then underwrite the additional costs. The Coupon booklet would be delivered to 20,000 San Leandro homes through newspaper distribution and distribution at individual stores. In time for this year's holiday season, the light standards between Davis and Dolores Streets will be decorated with holiday lighting. The lighting will encourage residents and visitors alike to stroll in the Downtown and shop at area stores. Members of the DBA also suggested that the annual meter bags be done in a festive way to add to the festive environment and express that free parking is a gift from the City.
