testified that she has not received any telephone calls from the residents/neighbors of <br />Harold Avenue regarding specific problems; <br />Roseann Sullivan, from the Emerald Properties Management Team who <br />assists with management at the St. Moritz, testified that the tenants want <br />the pedestrian gate and noted that small school children, as well as the elderly <br />tenants doing their shopping, do use it. Harold Avenue is a safer walkway because <br />there are fewer cars traveling on Harold than on Washington. <br />V. Necessity of Fire Department's access to complex through driveway to <br />Harold Ave. <br />■ October 21, 1963 recommendation from Captain J. Neves of the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau states, "a gate should be installed at the end of Harold St. <br />for accessibility to hydrant on Harold and Martel Street." <br />■ April 7, 1993 San Leandro Fire Dept. comments re: security gate installation at <br />St. Moritz apartments and what requirements must be met for gate to be <br />approved. <br />■ Oct. 20, 1993 from Guy Pelham at Fire Dept. to John Sullivan, regarding <br />violation of fire code by tire damage barriers since access to the first floor of <br />the building is not possible given parking configuration in complex.
