<br />Non-Professional Services Agreement between March 15, 2022 <br />City of San Leandro and SF Urban Film Fest Exhibit B Page 1 of 2 <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE SCHEDULE <br /> <br />EVENT TITLE: Climate Action Festival of the City of San Leandro <br />DATE: May 21, 2022 <br />LOCATION: Outdoors at Boys and Girls Club of the City of San Leandro <br /> <br />Introduction: The City of San Leandro is organizing a day long Climate Action Festival. The goals of the <br />festival are: (1) to increase the diversity of attendees to City of San Leandro convenings on climate change <br />and sustainability including increasing representation of youth and people of color, among other groups; <br />and (2) to educate and inspire the general public on ways they can engage in reducing the effects of <br />climate change. <br /> <br />Urban Jazz Dance Company: Founded in 2007 by Deaf dancer and choreographer Antoine Hunter, Urban <br />Jazz Dance Company’s (UJDC) mission is to uplift and provide opportunities for Deaf, Hard of hearing <br />(Hoh) and Disabled artists from marginalized backgrounds. <br /> <br />UJDC amplifies visibility and creates opportunities for Deaf artists through programming by 1) being a Deaf- <br />led dance company highlighting Deaf experiences, 2) teaching dance classes to Deaf and hearing dancers, <br />3) annually producing the Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival (BAIDDF) and social justice Deaf <br />Louder November home seasons, both platforms for Deaf artists to celebrate their talents through <br />performance/workshops that engage 70 artists and 750 attendees, 4) Deaf Dance Festivals in other <br />locations including San Diego, Rochester NY and Turkey, 5) touring Deaf’s IM PRISONED Internationally, a <br />production exploring Deaf Diaspora and how a Deaf person lives in a “prison within a prison”, 6) school <br />engagements serving over 5,800 youth per year with 47% of whom are from low income backgrounds, 8) <br />community workshops with local museums and organizations, 9) the ongoing virtual #DeafWoke and 10) <br />teaching contracted organizations Deaf/Disabled access/inclusion practices through UJDC Access <br />Services program. <br /> <br />Antoine Hunter (Artistic Director/Founder): Bay Area native, Antoine Hunter also known Purple Fire <br />Crow is an award-winning Internationally known African-American, Indigenous, Deaf, Disabled, <br />choreographer, dancer, actor, instructor, speaker, Producer and Deaf advocate. He creates opportunities <br />for Disabled, Deaf and hearing artists and produces Deaf -friendly events, and founded the Urban Jazz <br />Dance Company and Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival. Antoine has received numerous grants <br />and awards including the inaugural Jeanette Lomujo Bremond Award for Humanity, Isadora Duncan (Izzie) <br />for Bay Area International Deaf Dance Festival, and SF King of Carnaval. Antoine’s work has been <br />performed globally, most recently in Turkey, UK and Russia. He has lectured across the U.S. including at <br />Kennedy Center’s VSA, Harvard and Duke University, and the National Assembly of State Arts. In 2019 <br />alone, his company Urban Jazz Dance Company, an ensemble of professional Deaf and Hearing dancers, <br />performed for and engaged more than 4,200 schoolchildren. His shoe company DropLabs and Susan <br />Paley just released an innovative product to help people feel music through their shoes. Hunter is curator <br />for 2021 Bay Area Deaf Arts at SOMArts, a 2021 YBCA 100 honoree and is on the production team of <br />Signing Animation actively working on inclusive films. Hunter serves on the boards of Dance/USA, BABDA <br />and councils for CalArts Alumnx and Intrinsic Arts.
