IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96 - 105 (1003 ) <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION TO ABAG'S COMPREHENSIVE <br />SUBREGIONAL PLANNING PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A <br />STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE BORDER AREA BETWEEN SAN LEANDRO <br />AND OAKLAND <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) has issued a <br />request for proposals for the Comprehensive Subregional Planning Project to develop a <br />coordinated approach to subregional issues; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro supports the subregional cooperation <br />advocated by this program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of San Leandro and Oakland have been working separately <br />and together to revitalize the border area between the two cities; and <br />WHEREAS, improvement of this area would greatly impact the entire East Bay <br />region; and <br />WHEREAS, ABAG requires, as part of the application, a formal statement of <br />commitment from the governing board or council of each participating locality and <br />agency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of San <br />Leandro hereby supports the application to the Association of Bay Area Governments for <br />a grant to assist in the development of a Strategic Plan; and <br />
