IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LF.ANDRO <br />RESOLUTION No. 91- 259 (2698 ) <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN LEANDRO ADOPTING THE ABANDONED VEHICLE <br />PROGRAM FOR ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />WriEREAS, Assembly Bill 4114 by Members Clute and Bently has <br />become law as of January 1, 1992 ; and <br />WH=-REAS, the bill allows for the establishment of a <br />countywide authority to abate abandoned vehicles; and <br />WH=�S, such vehicles have become a blight upon land, <br />offending aesthetic sensibilities, harboring inimical insects and <br />other health threatening creatures, and allowing valuable <br />resources to go to waste; and <br />wfiEREAS, under provisions of AB 41.14 the majority of cit_--s <br />representing the majority of the incorporated population in <br />conjunction with two-thirds of the Board of Supervisors may <br />appoint an organization to be the countywide abandoned vehicle <br />abatement authority; and <br />WHZ.--7,EAS,. the Alameda County Vehicle Abatement 20-,thor4-ty has <br />created an Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program <br />consistent with the State of California -guidelines; and <br />W"ii EAS , the statute requires that the majority o . the <br />cities representing the majority of the incorporated population <br />and the Board of Supervisors approve and endorse the program; and <br />W3EREAS, the City of San Leandro believes � at the prog_am <br />will be of benefit to the populace of the City and the enti_e <br />County; <br />
