CLASSES, CATEGORIES, AND SALARIES <br />The following classes and categories of positions are hereby created or continued. <br />Pay for employees represented by the San Leandro Police Officers' Association is effective March 1, 1996. The <br />rates of pay outlined in Section 1.8 include the following adjustments: March 1, 1996, a 2-1/2% across the board <br />wage increase. In addition, occurring simultaneous with and not compounding with the across the board increase <br />above are a 1-1/2% equity adjustment effective March 1, 1996. This equity adjustment is designed to bring the <br />unit clasification salaries closer to the average salary in the labor market. For salary increases effective March 1, <br />1997, see Appendix A to this document. Effective November 16, 1994, as a result of implementation of SB 531 <br />City reports the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC) as compensation to PERS for retirement purposes. <br />Pay for employees represented by the San Leandro Management Organization shall receive a two percent (2%) <br />salary increase effective July 1, 1995 and July 1, 1996, except for employees in those classes which were <br />previously Y-rated. Those classes are noted by the double Y (YY). Effective July 1, 1994, pay rates shown for <br />management employees shall be increased by five percent (5%) over the monthly salary shown in the Pay Plan. <br />The additional five percent (5%) of pay shall be credited to the employees' accounts in the Deferred Compensation <br />Plan. The increase and deduction are for purposes of reporting said deferred compensation contribution to PERS <br />as compensation for retirement purposes. Effective July 1, 1994, as a result of implementation of SB 53, the City <br />shall report the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC) as compensation to PERS for retirement purposes. <br />Effective August 10, 1996, and continuing for the duration of the special appointment, the Finance Director shall <br />receive a 10% pay differential while serving as the Interim Assistant City Manager/Finance Director. <br />Effective March 1, 1994, as a result of the reorganization of the Public Works Services Department, pay for some <br />incumbent employees will be frozen until the appropriate step of the salary range catches up or the position is <br />vacated. Classes which include individuals who have had specialist pay that will be frozen are shown with two <br />crosses (++) for a 5% specialist pay, and three crosses (+++) for a 7.5% specialist pay. The reorganization <br />hereafter eliminates all specialist pay in the Public Works Services Department. <br />Effective July 1, 1996, pay for employees represented by the San Leandro City Employees Association shall <br />receive a two percent (2%) salary increase, except for employees in those classes which were previously Y-rated. <br />These—elasses are noted by a -doge v s.,,.,..bo (YY) As a result of implementation of the Supplemental <br />Memorandum of Understanding ratified on February 3, 1997, effective July 1, 1996, those classes formerly Y- <br />rated are now eligible for the 2% salary increase and are noted with an asterick (*). Those classes not receiving <br />the two percent (2%) salary increase effective July 1, 1996 are noted with an encircled x (®). <br />Effective December 31, 1995 the City will amend its contract with the Public Employees Retirement System <br />(PERS) to provide the "2% at 55" retirement option for local miscellaneous members. Effective July 1, 1994, as a <br />result of implementation of SB 53 the City shall report the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC) as <br />compensation to PERS for retirement purposes. The City will amend its contract with PERS to provide for the <br />employee paid military service credit option pursuant to Government Code Section 20930.3 (Military Service as <br />Public Service) for local miscellaneous members. <br />4 <br />
