IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97- 12 (1123 ) <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING MEASURE A <br />(SAN LEANDRO SCHOOLS BOND MEASURE) <br />WHEREAS, the children of San Leandro are the future of our community; and <br />WHEREAS, the education that our children receive provides the critical foundation that <br />is needed for our children to learn, to thrive and to reach their full potential; and <br />WHEREAS, the schools our children attend every day must be maintained as safe, <br />comfortable and healthy environments; and <br />WHEREAS, San Leandro's schools have served our community well but are in dire need <br />of upgrading and improving to insure a safe, comfortable and healthy environment, and the <br />elementary schools are in critical need of room to expand to reduce class size; and <br />WHEREAS, Measure A on the March 4, 1997 ballot will give the voters of San Leandro <br />the opportunity to show their support for our children and their future by providing the critically <br />needed funds to accomplish these improvements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does hereby <br />RESOLVE as follows: <br />That this Council supports Measure A and the efforts of the San Leandro Unified School <br />District to improve the school facilities in San Leandro for the health and welfare of the children <br />of San Leandro. <br />Introduced by Council Member Glaze and passed and adopted this 3rd day of February, <br />1997 by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, Young, (7 ) <br />Mayor Corbett <br />NOES: None (0 ) <br />ABSENT: None (0 ) <br />Attest: k� <br />Ja elyn L.
