IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 24 (2648/ 2841) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CREATION OF 1998 STORM <br />EMERGENCY FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO MAKE EXPENDITURES THEREFROM DURING A STATE OF <br />EMERGENCY AND DETERMINING THAT DISASTER VOLUNTEERS <br />ARE SUBJECT TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAWS <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, on February 9, 1998, the City Council by Resolution No. 98-18 <br />confirmed the declaration of local emergency resulting from record rainfall in the San <br />Francisco Bay Area. County, State and Federal authorities have also made <br />declarations of emergency. <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has undertaken various actions including the <br />purchase of supplies, services and equipment for emergency response. It is <br />anticipated that further expenditures will be necessitated by the continuation of such <br />local emergency. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does <br />RESOLVE as follows: <br />1. That all actions of the City Manager to purchase supplies, services and <br />equipment necessary to deal with the local emergency are confirmed and ratified and <br />that the City Council does hereby appropriate the sum of Seventy Five Thousand <br />Dollars ($75,000.00), for further emergency response expenditures. <br />2. The City Manager is authorized to undertake all actions, execute all <br />legal documents, purchase all supplies and equipment, and engage the services of all <br />persons necessary to preserve life and property during the existence of this local <br />emergency. <br />3. The City Manager is authorized and directed to account for all <br />expenditures under this Resolution, Resolution 98-18, and the San Leandro <br />Municipal Code for purposes of seeking reimbursement from the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency or other state and local resources. <br />
