property due to erosion as a result of rodent activity shall be repaired at <br />the Operator's expense. <br />2.9 WEED CONTROL OF PAVED SURFACES: Operator shall control all <br />weeds growing in cracks, expansion joints and other hard surfaces by the <br />use of mechanical control and with the approval of the Golf Course <br />Operations Manager chemical control, in extreme situations. <br />2.10 WEED CONTROL IN LANDSCAPE AREAS: Weed control in <br />landscape areas shall be accomplished by use of both pre -emergent and <br />post -emergent herbicides. Mechanical weed eradication is unacceptable <br />unless approved by the Golf Course Operations Manager. <br />2.11 STRING TRIMMERS: Care shall be exercised with regard to the use of <br />string trimmers to prevent damage to building surfaces, walls, header <br />board, light fixtures, signage, etc. No string trimmers shall be used <br />around trees. A minimum of twelve (12) inch bare soil or mulched <br />buffer zone shall be maintained around the circumference at the base of <br />all trees. <br />2.12 TURF MAINTENANCE: Turf maintenance in all areas is to be <br />performed on a timely professional basis and in a manner to insure green <br />and healthy turf that is free from weeds, disease and other pests and <br />promotes optimum growth at all times throughout the year. Acceptable <br />standards are to be established for each area of play under direction of <br />the Golf Course Operations Manager and in accordance with the <br />suggestions of a representative of the U.S.G.A. as being reasonable and <br />17 <br />
