EXHIBIT B TO RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 125 <br />FINDINGS AND DETERMINATION THAT CHANGES <br />OR MODIFICATIONS TO THE 2000 UNIFORM FIRE CODE <br />AND THE CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE, <br />2001 EDITION, ARE REASONABLY NECESSARY BECAUSE OF <br />LOCAL CONDITIONS <br />1. In connection with the adoption by reference of the Uniform Fire Code, 2000 <br />Edition, as amended by the State of California in that document entitled "The California Building <br />Standards Code," it is hereby expressly found and determined that the following changes to the <br />California Building Standards Code are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, <br />geological or topographical conditions: <br />Section 3-3-245: ABOVEGROUND TANKS. <br />Section 7902.2.2.1 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />a) The storage or Class I or II liquids in aboveground tanks outside of buildings is <br />prohibited within the City of San Leandro. <br />Exception: When approved by the Fire Department, the aboveground storage of <br />Class I or II liquids will be allowed in protected aboveground tanks as provided in <br />Appendix II-F. The tanks shall not exceed 2,000 gallon aggregate capacity and <br />shall only be allowed in areas that conform to the Zoning Code. Tank capacities <br />can be increased to 10,000 gallon individual and 40,000 gallon aggregate capacity <br />in areas designated I-G on the official zoning map of the City of San Leandro. <br />Appendix II-F is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />5.1.1 Individual Tanks. A protected aboveground tank shall be separated from property <br />lines, important buildings, public ways and other tanks in accordance with Table A-II-F- <br />l. <br />TABLE A-11-F-1 <br />INDIVIDUAL <br />MINIMUM <br />TANK <br />DISTANCE FROM <br />CAPACITY <br />PROPERTY LINE <br />(gallons) <br />WHICH IS OR CAN <br />BE BUILT UPON, <br />INCLUDING THE <br />OPPOSITE SIDE OF <br />A PUBLIC WAY <br />MINIMUM DISTANCE <br />MINIMUM <br />FROM THE NEAREST <br />DISTANCE <br />SIDE OF ANY PUBLIC <br />BETWEEN <br />WAY OR FROM THE <br />TANKS <br />NEAREST IMPORTANT <br />(feet) <br />BUILDING ON THE <br />SAME PROPERTY <br />(feet) <br />< 2,000 15 5 <br />
