IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO.2002- 146 (1980/1080/1925) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR A <br />TRANSPORTATION FOR LIVABLE COMMUNITIES (TLC) GRANT FOR A <br />PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT STUDY ON DAVIS STREET, A HAZARD ELIMINATION <br />SAFETY (HES) PROGRAM GRANT FOR EAST 14TH STREET STRIPING <br />IMPROVEMENTS AND A BICYCLE TRANSPORTATION ACCOUNT (BTA) GRANT FOR <br />A BAY TRAIL SAN LEANDRO SLOUGH BICYCLE BRIDGE <br />AND VARIOUS CITY BICYCLE ROUTES <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission has a Transportation for <br />Livable Communities Grant Program; the Federal Government has a Hazard Elimination Safety <br />Program; and the State provides a Bicycle Transportation Account; and <br />WHEREAS, the projects that can be funded by these programs are in alignment with the <br />City's General Plan Goals for Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements and Traffic Safety <br />Improvements, <br />NOW, THEREFORE the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for a Transportation <br />for Livable Communities Grant, a Hazard Elimination Safety Program Grant and a Bicycle <br />Transportation Account Grant for Bicycle and Pedestrian, and Traffic Safety Improvements in <br />the City of San Leandro. <br />Introduced by Council Member Santos and passed and adopted <br />this 21 st day of October 2002, by the following called vote: <br />
