"Friendly City" Relationship between <br />San Leandro and Cities in China ' <br />Created by Steven Leung on Apr 14, 2007 <br />Category: International Affairs <br />Region: United States of America <br />Target: Business Owners and Residents of San Leandro <br />Description/ History: <br />The Asian population in the City of San Leandro has grown rapidly over the past five years. According to <br />the U.S. Census Bureau 2005 American Community Survey, 25.9% of San Leandro's population is Asian. <br />It is growing rapidly at a rate of 2% per year. Because of this growth, it is an opportune time to create a <br />"Friendly City" relationship between San Leandro and cities in China to help enhance cultural awareness <br />and mutual appreciation of cultures, provide opportunities for professional exchanges and economic <br />growth in both regions through these international relationships. <br />Petition: <br />We, the undersigned, wholeheartedly believe in building friendly city relationships between San Leandro <br />and cities in China, the first to be Yangchun in Guangdong Province.
