Cary, widower, of San Leandro, <br />Alameda County, California, for and in consideration of the uses <br />and performance of the conditions hereinafter mentioned: <br />DO HERBY GRANT to the City of San Leandro, a municipal corporatid, <br />of the State of. California, <br />ALL that real property situate in the City of San <br />Leandro, County of Alameda, :state of California, bounded and <br />described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at a point on the Northerly line of Estudillo <br />or Ward Avenue, as originally laid out, distant thereon 98 feet <br />4 inches Easterly from the Southeastern corner of a parcel of <br />land containing about one acre conveyed by John B. Ward et al to <br />L. C. L".orehouse by deed of date uctober 19, 1866, and recorded <br />in the Recorder's office of Alameda County, California, in Book <br />W of Deeds at page 18BO, running thence Northerly at right angles <br />to said Estudillo Avenue 150 feet to a point: thence at right <br />angles Easterly 65 feet: thence at right angles Southerly 150 feet <br />to said line of Estudillo Avenue: and thence l'desterly 65 feet to <br />the point,of beginning. <br />TO HAVE AND TU HOLD unto the grantee upon the following <br />express conditions: - <br />First: That upon said described land a building be <br />erected to be used as a Free Fublic Library. <br />Second: "hat said land be not used for any other purpose <br />except for the eredtion of library building as aforesaid including <br />reading rooms, Assembly Hall and kindred purposes. ` <br />WITNESS my hand this llth day of February, A.
