Henry Root, a resident of San Francisco, having <br />heretofore conveyed to the City of San. Leandro a very valuable <br />park site known as the "HENRY ROOT QUADRANGLE", and, wishing to <br />make said ;gift of greater benefit to the people of said City of <br />San Leandro, has purchased and conveyed to the City Lots 44, 45 and <br />46 of "San Antonio Court", thereby enlarging said Quadran?le to <br />three timee its origiral size; nci, there ore, be it <br />RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the City of San Leandro <br />for itself and on behalf 0*' the citizens of said City, that we ex- <br />press to Mr. Henry Root our sincere appreciation for this additional <br />and very generous gift. Rarely has the City of San T eandro beer. <br />Enriched by ?,if to of lands for public purposes by citizens or those <br />having interests here, so that this gift from one not a citizen :and <br />without material interest here is doubly appreciated.
