IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 57 (2648/ 2841) <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER, <br />ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR, POLICE CAPTAIN SERVICE BUREAU, <br />OR EMERGENCY SERVICES MANAGER <br />TO FILE REQUESTS FOR STATE AND FEDERAL <br />FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE EVENT OF <br />A DECLARATION OF LOCAL EMERGENCY <br />1. In the event of a local emergency, state and federal financial assistance are sometimes <br />available to local jurisdictions under P.L. 93-288, as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster <br />Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the Natural <br />Disaster Assistance Act. <br />2. When an emergency occurs, it is sometimes necessary to obtain immediate financial <br />assistance to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of San Leandro. <br />3. The State of California Governor's Office of Emergency Services permits local <br />governments to designate an agent to request funds on behalf of the City in order to expedite the <br />process in times of emergency. <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />1. That the Assistant City Manager, the Assistant Finance Director, the Police Captain <br />Service Bureau, or the Emergency Services Manager, in that order, are hereby authorized to <br />execute for and on behalf of the City of San Leandro, a public entity established under the laws of <br />the State of California, an application for emergency financial assistance and to file it in the Office <br />of Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain federal financial assistance under P.L. <br />93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of <br />1988, and/or state financial assistance under the Natural Disaster Assistance Act. <br />2. That the City of San Leandro hereby authorizes its agents to provide to the Governor's <br />Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance the <br />assurances and agreements required to obtain the assistance. <br />
