RECORDER <br />By way of gift JOHN BROOKS and BARBARA MATHEWS BROOKS, his <br />wife, hereby grant to the CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, a Municipal <br />Corporation, the following described real property in the City <br />of San Leandro, County of Alameda, State of California: <br />LOTS "G", "K", "L", "M", AND "N", IN BLOCK 15, AS <br />SAID LOTS AND BLOCK ARE SHOWN ON THE "MAP OF THE <br />TOWN OF SAN LEANDRO, COUNTY SEAT OF ALAMEDA COUNTY", <br />FILED FEBRUARY 27, 1855, RECORDED JUNE 14, 1870, IN <br />BOOK 1 OF MAPS, PAGE 19, IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY <br />RECORDER OF ALAMEDA COUNTY, <br />on the express condition that said real property will be used <br />for the following purposes only, to wit: <br />1. Said real property and improvements located thereon will be <br />operated and maintained by the City of San Leandro as a <br />community cultural, recreational, and historical center <br />available for use by resident groups on a reservation basis <br />and for general community use under the auspices of City <br />recognized local organizations. <br />2. The City of San Leandro shall maintain said real property <br />and improvements located thereon in a manner sutiable for <br />use for the above stated purposes, and in at least as good <br />condition as presently exists, normal wear and tear excepted. <br />3. In the event of damage or destruction by natural causes, <br />such as earthquake, fire, flood, etc., the City of San <br />Leandro will, if feasible, reconstruct the property to its <br />present condition. If reconstruction is not feasible, the <br />City of San Leandro will retain, maintain, and operate the <br />property as a park. <br />4. Priority provisions will be made for use of specified areas <br />of said real property and improvements located thereon by <br />youth groups and senior citizens. Areas shall be maintained <br />for displays and exhibits designed to acquaint the public <br />with San Leandro's historical heritage. <br />1 <br />
