The BPAC has typically met once or <br />twice a year since the completion of the last Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. Staff is <br />planning the update to the current Plan and anticipates having four to six meetings over the next <br />year and a half. The BPAC is a Brown Act body, so the general public is encouraged to attend <br />and provide comment at BPAC meetings to give input and feedback on the City ’s Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian related projects. A Municipal Code update is anticipated in early 2023 to formally <br />establish the San Leandro BPAC. Remaining vacancies in District 2 and 6 will be filled in the next <br />round of recruitment in early 2023. <br />Current Agency Policies <br />·Maintain and enhance San Leandro’s infrastructure <br />Previous Actions <br />·On February 7, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011-011, the City Council established the <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee <br />·On March 19, 2018, by Resolution No. 2018-101, City Council appointed members to the <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and by Resolution No. 2018-103, Council <br />approved the 2018 Update to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />·The City conducted an online recruitment in the Fall of 2021 for applications from those <br />interested in serving on the BPAC <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />·Goal 14 Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation - Promote and accommodate alternative, <br />environmentally friendly methods of transportation, such as walking and bicycling <br />·Action 14.01-A Bikeway Plan Implementation - Maintain and implement a City-wide <br />Bikeway Plan and update that Plan regularly as conditions and needs change.
