IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE <br />THE PAMELA KUNG TRUST BEQUEST TO THE SAN LEANDRO PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR <br />THE EXPANSION OF CHINESE LANGUAGE MATERIALS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library collects Chinese language materials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pamela Kung Revocable Living Trust has made a $30,000 bequest for the <br />expansion of the Chinese language materials of the San Leandro Public Library; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the $30,000 donation will allow the San Leandro Public Library to significantly <br />expand and enhance the quality of the Chinese language section over multiple fiscal years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the donation will provide the Library an opportunity to engage the Chinese <br />speaking community in the selection of the materials, which advances the Library’s goal of developing a <br />collection that is more equitable in meeting the needs of San Leandro’s diverse community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the donation will enhance general funds available to the Library Department over <br />multiple fiscal years to support a core service, collection development. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />To accept the $30,000 donation from the Pamela Kung Revocable Living Trust for the expansion <br />of the Chinese language materials of the San Leandro Public Library; and <br /> <br />To recognize the $30,000 donation on balance sheet account 010-220-2262; and <br /> <br />To authorize appropriation of $30,000 into expenditure account 010-68-008 for the exclusive use <br />as detailed in the Notice of Beneficiary; and <br /> <br />To authorize the City Manager to re-appropriate the remaining balance into subsequent fiscal <br />years until the full donation of $30,000 has been expended. <br /> <br /> <br />Introduced by _______ and passed and adopted this 19th day of September 2022, by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />Members of the Council: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Kelly B.
