IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL <br />DECLARING THIRTEEN VEHICLES AND TWO MOTORCYCLES AS SURPLUS <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SAID SURPLUS ASSETS AT PUBLIC AUCTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department currently has thirteen fleet vehicles and two <br />motorcycles which have been retired and taken out of service: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the thirteen vehicles and two motorcycles have been crashed and or require <br />maintenance at a cost which exceeds the vehicles’ value, and no longer have any value to the <br />Police Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these thirteen vehicles and two motorcycles have been stored at the City <br />corporation yard and stripped of all equipment such as radios, computers, sirens, overhead lights, <br />etc.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, U.S. Auctions has offered to auction all thirteen vehicles and two <br />motorcycles and transport them out of the corporation yard to get them ready for auction on a date <br />not yet determined; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1-6-500 of the San Leandro Municipal Code states: <br /> “The Purchasing Agent shall sell or exchange, in a manner designed to serve the best interests of <br />the City, equipment, materials and supplies which have become unsuitable or unnecessary for <br />City purposes.”; and <br /> WHEREAS, the sale of these thirteen vehicles and two motorcycles will generate a one- <br />time revenue yet to be determined. The funds generated by the sale of the thirteen vehicles and <br />two motorcycles will be returned to the Equipment Repair and Maintenance Fund, account <br />number 690-3911. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />Following public notice as may be required by law and in accordance with section 1-6-500 <br />of the San Leandro Municipal Code, the declaration of surplus and authorization of the sale of <br />thirteen vehicles and two motorcycles at public auction by U.S. Auctions is approved and should <br />be scheduled for a date yet to be determined. <br /> <br />Introduced by _______ and passed and adopted this 19th day of September 2022, by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Members of the Council: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br />
