June 7, 2022Finance Committee Minutes <br />Committee that the City’s financial outlook is positive and revenue growth is expected <br />to remain steady in the short term. Revenue and expenditure forecasts for the General <br />Fund and other funds were updated based on projected revenue trends and operational <br />needs. The budget amendments also include new positions to expand services or <br />bridge service gap. <br />City Manager Robustelli and Director Liao also explained further regarding the funds <br />that were proposed to support staffing needs. <br />The Committee made various comments and asked questions regarding funds spent <br />on COVID relief, support for small businesses, property transfer tax projection, Fire <br />pension liability, staffing level for programs, and economic development. The <br />Committee’s recommendations are summarized below. <br />•Consider giving funds back to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Projects <br />and Façade Improvement Program as funds were taken away for COVID-19 response. <br />•Continue to provide grant funds to support small businesses. <br />•Provide additional resources to support economic development and attract <br />businesses to relocate to San Leandro. <br />FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS3. <br />22-389 Future Agenda Items - June 2022 Meeting <br />Future Agenda Items - June 2022 MeetingAttachments: <br />The Community Development Department is planning to provide an update regarding <br />economic development at the September meeting.
