WHITE <br />TREASURER - TAX COLLECTOR September 30, 2004 <br />Honorable Board of Supervisors <br />Administration Building <br />Oakland, CA 94612 <br />Dear Board Members: <br />SUBJECT: Agreement Sale of Tax Defaulted Property <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />1) Authorize the Treasurer -Tax Collector to sell, by agreement, to the City of San Leandro the <br />tax -defaulted property identified as Parcel Number 42-4530-5-2 location: 2640 Eden Road, <br />San Leandro, which is subject to the Tax Collector's Power of Sale. <br />2) Authorize the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute the agreement and approve <br />the attached resolution. <br />DISCUSSION/SUMMARY: <br />In accordance with Chapter 8 of Part 6 of Division 1 of the California Revenue and Taxation <br />Code, five years or more after property taxes have become delinquent, the Tax Collector may <br />sell all or any portion of the tax -defaulted property. The City of San Leandro filed a timely <br />objection to the public auction sale of this property along with a proposal to purchase said <br />property for the agreement price of $26,508.01. The city intends to use this property for the <br />creation of a right of way access for the public. <br />The Agreement to Purchase Tax -Defaulted Property and all supporting documents on this sale <br />are attached for your review and authorization. <br />FINANCING: <br />This agreement does not have any financial impact on the County of Alameda. <br />3;a?ak-_ <br />Donald R.
