The Hayward Police Department’s annual goals include training <br />objectives, for examples, focusing on employee communication skills and increasing <br />internal and external mental health training. The FY 2022 Byrne JAG Local Grant <br />funding is being programmed to assist in providing high quality training and continuing <br />professional education to meet the challenges facing law enforcement. <br /> <br />The Hayward municipal airport, located approximately one mile from the Police <br />Department, has a building that was vacated by the California Air National Guard. This <br />building is being used as a training center for law enforcement. <br /> <br />The Hayward Police Department will utilize the $40,235.40 allocated from the FY 2022 <br />Byrne JAG Local Grant (after the 10% administrative fee reduction of $4,470.60 from <br />the individual allocation total of $44,706) for two program areas: <br />
