Please advise on option 1 _
getting a letter to the county?
Kevin
If we move fonvard with option 2 is the timeframe for
From: Dawn Cabral [mailto:DCabral@ortc.com]
Sent: Tuesday, July 12, 2011 10:42 AM
To: Chun, Kevin
Subject: RE: San Leandro Parcel Map
Kevin,
Attached is a copy of the tax letter showing estimated 2011-2012 property taxes in the amount of
$1,936.00. The explanation from the tax office for estimated taxes follows:
"The assessor's office put $103,725 as the assessed value on the property which gave me
$1,936.00 as the estimated taxes for 2011/12. Per assessor, the APN was purchased by the City
on 05/4/11 - after the lien date of Jan 1 - which is the reason why there is still a taxable value.
But since they are exempt, they can write a letter to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to have
an exempt or zero tax bill for the 2011/12 fiscal year which will come out in October."
The two options for recording the map are:
1. Send me a cashier's check payable to the Alameda Tax Office, in the amount of $1,936.00, or
2. Send a letter to the county clerk requesting an exemption for 2011-2012. The tax office won't issue a
zero tax letter without an exemption letter from the county clerk. The map recording will be delayed until
then.
Dawn Cabral
Old Republic Title Company
Subdivision Map Processing
1000 Burnett Avenue, Suite 400
Concord, CA 94520
Phone 925-687-7880
Fax 925-687-4836
