1039 <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 71 - 2 <br />AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF WEST JOAQUIN <br />AVENUE <br />Recitals <br />The City Council of the City of San Leandro on December 14, 1970, passed <br />its Resolution of Intention No. 70-268 to vacate a Aortic-.i of West Joaquin <br />Avenue (a public street in the City of San Leandro) as hereinafter described. <br />A public hearing was set for January 4, 1971, at which time any person <br />objecting to such vacation was given the opportunity to appear and show cause <br />why such vacation should not be ordered, and notice of such meeting was duly <br />published and posted. <br />Such hearing was held by the City Council on January 4, 1971, and the City <br />Council at the time of such hearing determined that said portion of West Joaquin <br />Avenue was unnecessary for present or prospective public use. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN <br />as follows: <br />Section 1. That a portion of West Joaquin Avenue located within the City <br />of San Leandro, Alameda County, California, is unnecessary for present or prospec- <br />tive public use and said portion of West Joaquin Avenue is hereby vacated and <br />':GIB <br />abandoned; said portion of West Joaquin Avenue is more particularly described <br />as follows: <br />A portion of West Joaquin Avenue, formerly Hepburn Street, as shown <br />on the map of the Town of San Leandro, filed February 27, 1855, and <br />recorded June 14, 1870, in Book 1 of Maps, page 19, Alameda County <br />Records, described as follows: <br />Beginning at the intersection of the southwestern line of Carpentier <br />Street with ;he southeastern line of said West Joaquin Avenue, as <br />shown on said map; thence along the said southeastern line of West <br />.Joaquin Avenue, southwesterly to a line parallel with the north- <br />eastern line of San Leandro Boulevard and 25.40 feet, measured at <br />right angles, northeasterly therefrom; thence along said parallel <br />line, northwesterly to the northwestern lire of said West Joaquin <br />Avenue; thence along said northwestern line of West Joaquin Avenue, <br />northeasterly to the said southwestern line of Carpentier Street; <br />thence along the said southwestern line of Carpentier Street; south- <br />easterly to the point of beginning. <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after <br />adoption and shall be published once prior to adoption. <br />
